NuGard First Response Protective Clothing are lightweight coveralls, jackets, and pants that provide protection from heat and flame while keeping the wearers body temperature constant.
Professor David Wessel shows his multi-touch interface that uses computer technologies that allow him to experiment with fine controls to "caress" the instrument.
Mathematical discoveries and the things which our mathematical symbols represent are some of the most beautiful things that humans have ever accomplished. Here are just a few of my favorite equations.
By exploiting the powers of nanotechnology and taking advantage of non-toxic, Earth-abundant materials, Berkeley Lab's Cyrus Wadia has fabricated new solar cell devices that have the potential to be several orders of magnitude less expensive than conventional solar cells.
An engineering and manufacturing road show on wheels has begun touring the UK to bring the latest and future technologies to businesses and schools.
IBM and the US Department of Energy today announced an historic milestone in computing, which has enormous implications for a variety of issues critical to society, such as climate change, alternative energy, and financial services.
As oil prices increase, the demand for coal rises rapidly. But coal mining often has negative effects on the surrounding environment. There are hundreds of contaminated mine sites in the U.S., and 144 in Pennsylvania alone.
Based in Fort Collins, USA, Oakes Manufacturing uses FeatureCAM to manufacture piece parts for OEMs, prototype parts for research centres and universities, and even dental products for horse dentists. Find out how FeatureCAM has helped Oakes Manufacturing significantly decrease their programming time and increase their programming accuracy.
This video gives a brief description of the exciting opportunities for post doctoral research in the NIST Materials Science & Engineering Laboratory (MSEL) through the National Research Council (NRC) Research Associate Program.

I typically attend the annual Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy each year in pursuit of specific coverage. This year, I sought out candidates for coverage in a vacuum technology article, and pulled together some instruments for a spectroscopy guide. But as busy as that kept me, it wasn’t all mass spectrometers and vacuum pumps on the show floor.

Cresset released a new version of its FieldStere bioisostere generator. FieldStere delivers shorter lead optimization cycles to computational and medicinal chemists by enabling them to choose the best syntheses, to fine-tune portions of lead molecules, and to scaffold hop to expand into new areas of chemical space.
Olympus has introduced the VivaView MG (Multi-Gas) incubator microscope, a long-term live cell incubation and imaging system optimized for stem cell, cancer, and other research requiring independent control of both oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, along with other environmental parameters.
